Jeff Tinch, Director

From intently listening to his father's vast and varied collection of 33 RPM records as a toddler, to his love of singing in church choirs and performing in elementary school choir concerts and musicals, music has always been a part of Jeff Tinch's life.  In his 7th grade year, he took the next step of his musical journey and began playing trumpet.  From jr high through high school, Mr. Tinch received many superior ratings for solo and ensembles and was part of his school band program's traditions in performance excellence.  He received a full scholarship on trumpet at Florida State University and earned his bachelor's degree in instrumental music education four years later.

....All his playing experiences fueled a desire to teach others about his passion and it brought him back to where it began at Everitt Middle School as band director.  In the ten years Mr. Tinch taught at Everitt, his bands consistently received superior ratings in concert MPAs and solo and ensemble events.  While teaching public school, Mr. Tinch served as orchestra director at The Rock of Panama City, where he arranged and conducted the church orchestra.  Following a call into full time ministry, Jeff eventually joined the staff of The Rock as music minister, leading worship, conducting adult and children's choirs and writing and arranging music for those groups and vocal soloists.  Today, Jeff maintains a private brass studio and is a section trumpet player with the Panama City Symphony Orchestra.  Jeff has been married to Linda (an accomplished pianist) for 39 years.  They have two children;  Amy, a theatre major in Chicago and Andrew, a professional guitar player with the United States Air Force Band Singing Sergeants, stationed in Washington D. C..
