Still don't know what your child would like to play? Then check out this excellent band instrument video demonstration produced by the United States Army Field Band!
How do you select and obtain an instrument?
Every effort will be made to match the student with their first instrument of choice during fitting. However, physical limitations may prevent this. Once an instrument is selected, it will be the parent’s responsibility to secure a horn.
At this time, ECWA does not have any instruments to loan or rent.
-
It is suggested that parents visit Playground Music Center, 27 Harrison Ave, PC and inquire about their excellent rental programs.
-
Playground also provides excellent repair services. If you have an old instrument that your child will be using, I suggest taking it to them so a professional can check it over and make sure it is in proper playing condition.
-
PLEASE AVOID the “great deals” and “bargains” usually found on Amazon or other warehouse internet stores. Nothing is more frustrating to the band student and the director than a poorly functioning and cheap band instrument
-
For beginning band we will use, “Habits of a Successful Beginner Band Musician” method book. You can purchase this book online or from Playground Music. A wire music stand will also be needed as ECWA does not have music stands at this present time.
